It’s Over

Well folks, the Chubby Chicks to Skinny Sticks section of the supply blog is shutting down. Did we lose weight? A few lbs but not anywhere near our goals (speaking for myself that is). The misnomer is that salad is healthy when it’s not, the person ordering this is likely thinking they are making the right choice and doing something good for their diet. Let’s make it a little easier on the consumer to make smart choices and live a healthy lifestyle. I know this is just one example of many out there…..

Nanotechnology all the buzz for functional foods

It seems Nanotechnology is all the buzz…. The Federal Government has allocated $1.6 billion from the proposed 2010 Budget to the National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI)! And why, might you ask would “foodies” even have an interest in nanotechnology, a science based on matter that is approximately 100,000 times smaller than the thickness of one sheet of paper? These days, food scientists around the globe are working to create, change, and alter certain foods on a nano-scale; to taste better, increase their health properties, and make our food overall more safe. In November it will also be a featured Nutracon webinar topic, you won’t want to miss your chance to hear the latest and get in on the debate, click here to learn more about this and other upcoming webinars.
